Beta Alanine Lactic Acid Buffer 60 Capsules

Function – Athlete Supplementation as a lactate buffer or acidic buffer as a pre cursor to carnosine. To be introduced and chronically loaded 4 weeks from event or key block.

Recent evidence has shown that ingesting 4 g/day of β-alanine over a period of four weeks or more increases the muscle carnosine content and may lead to an improvement in performance (Castell et al., 2010; MacLaren, 2011).

Useful – For engagement in moderate to high intensity exercises or sudden required burst of speed.

Action – When you ingest “beta-alanine”, its combines with another amino acid “Histadine” it’s converted to carnosine, which works as an acid buffer. It gets stored in cells and would normally get released when PH drops (When the body becomes more acidic from exercise). So beta-alanine give you increased stores of carnosine it will help against that exercise-induced drop in PH.

Side-note – For athletes who are in ketosis or low carbohydrate it may be even more beneficial as the ketosis diet can case a drop in PH.

Carnosine is also known to be useful in preventing cellular damage from free radicals that that are produced in excess in exercise, such as reactive oxygen species like superoxide, reactive nitrogen spices and hydroxyl radicals.

Bet Alanine 500mg (per capsule)

Other ingredients:
Magnesium Stearate (anti-caking agent), Silicon Dioxide (anti-caking agent), Size 0 Gelatin white body and cap, Colourant: Titanium Dioxide.

Dose – Dosage is 5- 6.4 g per day. Divide into 3 doses per day and take with a minimum of 10 grams of carbs (half a banana). Takes a few weeks to build up in the body so its chronically loaded four weeks before event. It can be cycled for 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off as it stays in the body for a long period of time.
